respected freinds, the mahadeva temple in this town is the very centre of the town. it has a long sannathi street and the thiruvaduthurai adheenam has a rest house here. the sundaramoorthy samadhi is right in the centre of the temple, but we see only his stone idol there(the temple officials told me that site is his samadhi).
about 1 km southwest of this temple down the kochi highway we see the kulasekara temple and the alwar samadhi is right in front of it.
there is bajan group from kovai who have erected a small pooja hall in the mahadevan temple(in the northern portion) meet here annually to celebrate sundaramoorthy birthday.
these two places are well maintained by kerala govt and the officials answered me in tamil and explained things sincerely without asking any money.
kodungallur (kodun-kouloor) bagawathi amman is reffered as kannaki by the preists and the officials also. they also quoted silapathikaram!
thirissoor vadakunathar temple may have been built by later cheras but could have been modified by the kochi kingdom in 18th century onwards.
st.thomas reached here in 30AD but moved from place to place. the port here was one of the busiest in the world till 8th century when a tsunami damaged the mouth of the port and the port subsequently shifted to kochi. the vanchi port had extensive contact with arabia and rome. st,thomas could easily have sailed here in any of the merchant ships which are still constructed here in the traditional way.
