Yathirai in Chola Heart-land
  • Dear Kamal,
There are additions. I started seeing mails for the past 5 - 6
months only. In this span, our discussions were around :
    1. PS characters 2. SS Characters; 3. Tanjore Tample 4. Laguleesam
etc., 5. Vaishnavism 6. Trips to Pullamangai, Gangai Konda
Cholapuram (GKC) 7. Pallava cave temples 8. Mamallapuram 9. Reference
of Articles / other sites pertaining to the above 10. Madhan page etc.

Our First Trip was related to PS only. This time, I think we should
slightly other places also in place of the few ones. My suggestion
is : We should again see Udayarkudi - Veeranam - GKC - Darasuram -
Bigtemple - Pazhayarai etc., but omit Kodikkarai - Thirumayam -
Pudukottai etc. Instead we should visit :Thiruvaiyaru,
Thirukkandiyur (1000 Lingas), Rajarajan Manimandapam etc.

I opine that we should also interact with : Kudavoil Balu at Tanjore
and Krishnamachariar of Srirangam. (of course we will meet Dr. KKvn)
Kudavoil has done extensive work on Udayarkudi & Big Temple
recently. Krishnamachariar is likely to be a role-model of an ardent
    PS (Kalki) Fan!

As Diwakar pointed out rightly, merry Christmas to every body. That
reminds me of the foreigner on Big Temple Vidhanam!

There is one Mr. Ramachandran IAS - Secretary in Orissa Government -
heading Bharathi Tamil Sangam. He has specialised on Chola study and
done research on Rajarani temple - Bhuvaneswar. (I think there are
Rajendra's inscriptions avl in Orissa and Naga Temple Bhuvaneshwar
drew its inspiration from BT.) This Officer has brought out a book
on Name - Similarities between Tamils & Orissa. I remember to have
read a Tamil similarity for Jesus. Shall let you know.

    Fondly, SB
  • Dear SB
