hi freinds, i just thought it would be interesting to know there were saivite kingdoms in afganistan in 1BC-3AD. these were kushan empires. though kushans were budhist central asians -were zealous saivites. early saivism was much more prevalent in iran,central asia and pakistan than in south india.
By Saivism if you intend to mean any of the current specific forms then, yes it is indeed interesting to note. However if you werejust meaningSiva worship then it is no surprise as theGandhara Kingdom of Sakuni andhis sister Gandhari is the present day Kandahar in Afghanistan.
mmmm for some reason,Kandahar is always in the limelight for wrong reasons like Sakuni and the Plane Hijack etc.
