-Esana Siva Pandithan has constructed the Siva Temple in Esalam. Nadana Kasinathan has brought out a book on the copper plates found two sons : one was arulmozhi other was some one else (name forgotton) (2) Aditya Karikalan exhibited the head, after beheading Veerapandiya - outside Tanjore Fort. (3) Kangai kondan - Rajendra - constructed the Esalam temple for Esana Siva Pandithan, who was the Chief Saiva priest. (4) The place is near Ennayiram : Speculations : (a) Ashtasahasram Brahmins' place (b) 8000 Samana Digambaras lived there - there is a smanana padugai also seen nearby. (5) This was the Capital of Cholas during Kulothunga's period. (6) The place is about 15 KM south west of Tindivanam - before Vikravandi. SB
