Dr. Kalignar, CM of Tamilnadu announced today that the State has taken over the works of 14 Renowned Tamil Scholars - including Dr. Rasamanickanar (father of Dr. Kalikkovan & Dr. Arasu).
They are : 1. Mayavaram Vedanayagam Pillai 2. Sakthi Vai. Govindan 3. The.Po. Meenakshi Sundaranar 4. Tha. Na. Kumarasamy 5. Kaa. su. Pillai 6. Pulavar Gulam Kathiru Navalar 7. VAI. SADASIVA PANDARATHAR 8. Dr. C. Iallkuvanar 9. Mahavidhwan Dandapani Desigar 10. Thi.Ja. Ranganathan 11. Narana Duraikkannan 12. DR. MAA. RAASA MAANICKANAR 13. Dr. Va.suba. maanickam. 14. Pulavar Ka. Govindan.
The Government has granted Rs. 6 Lakhs per family of the above each.
It is befitting that this act is taking place in the Centenary year of Dr. Maa. Raasamanickanar.
