Hi All, This is from the temple_cleaners group. This month we have planned to take up the temple cleaning activity at Venkadu near SOmangalam(Which is next to Kundrathur), on Sunday 19 th Feb 2006. This temple is that of Lord Shiva, which is very much in need of cleaning and reconstruction. The temple is totally in Ruins and we are not yet able to trace out the name and the history of the temple. Dr.Subramaninan, a member of our team had visited this place this week and has built up the local support. The local are ready to help us in reviving the temple. As a first step the temple premises has to be cleaned. But I hear from them that there are lots of puraadhana temple parts and kalvettukkal within the premises and we need a good volunteer, who can try to guide as how to clean and restore the kalvettukkal slowly, and carefully. I asked Lavanya, who first said she is happy tocome but later has some other plans for 19th. As a preliminary visit, few members can go to the temple this Sunday, the 12th to access the situation. Can any Kalvettu expert accompnay us? We also need volunteers, whether they join temple_cleaners group or not.
