Thanks Venkat for the Link Dear SPS did you notice the absence of Rajaraja in the Write up....Have I goofed up because Remember we Criticised the UNesco write stating Rajajraja Founder of Chola Dynasty built this.... Now they have removed Rajaraja completely what a shame Sri
Dear Sri I think unesco lifted rrc's name when they changed the topic from brigadeeshwarar temple to living chola temples. then they would have to mention 3 kings and that would complicate matters. why they changed the topic is another matter. I personally feel that somebody in the comittee found it similar in structure and name sounding to two other temples in the unesco list cholula pyramid( mexico- 217 ft) and choga zanbil pyramid(iran- with dravidan kalvettu). we never know the actual scenarios those times. with a turbulent world, slaves were moving from one corner of the world to another and similarities were being installed in far corners of the world. for example there is a statue of a giraffe on the towers of konarak in orrisa.to my knowledge the girafee became extinct in india a few thousand years back. the maha bodhi pyramidal temple is built on a two tier flat structure and has a bell shaped pinnacle.( so much like our own big temple)
Dear Venkat For arguements sake if they had difficulty in having three kings with their timeframes they would have given Rajaraja !! a miss The History is the original writeup had Rajaraja as the Founder of chola Dynasty and We protested... I ll see if I can find the old message for you
