There is a great connection between Nandhini and Gujarath.
as usual i was roaming in Bukavu(congo) market with my bloody salesman Bag.... everything was usual...
aana rendu naal vegetarian saappaadu kidaikkaama mandai kaanjen.. was surviving on Loads of Banana ( vayithai kalakidichu ) .....
veruthu poi... i attended a business meeting (atlast with an Indian) and at the end of the meeting, i asked him where i wud get vegetarian food as i had not eaten for the past two days..
udane andha punniyavaan told me that there is a person working in his company who is a gujarathi and told me that he is a pure vegetarian and introduced to me.....
Nijamaa solren.. the person to whom i got introduced is a punniyavaan... uyir kodutha deivam to me.... he took me to his house and gave dosai, sambar, chapathi, and more importantly Thayir saadham and casually showed his family album...
He has just had a kid and the mother and child were in India.....when asked about the name of the child ( wife ai pathi kekka mudiyumaaa) he told the name as what you know???
"Nandhini" .. yes the name of the child is "nandhini".. i was astonished to see the name in a Gujrathi family , and asked whether the wife is a south Indian for which he replied in the Negative.. and said Nandhini is common in Gujarat....
avvalavu dhaan andha aalukku naan PS kadhaiya muzhusaa 2 hours ukaandhu sonnen ... starting with "khem cho " , hindi and English..... and he was astonished the way Nandhini's character has been portrayed In PS.....
I gave an aura on Nandhini and explained him fully.. her patriotism , her beauty and of course her vily nature .....
after all the discussion he was very happy that he gave his daughter the name and you know waht wants an english translation of PS to be sent to him.....
aaga indha African trip la uruppadiya ennoda companykku business aachcho illaiyo..... PS pathi oru Gujarathi kku sonnen.....
Vaazhkayila oru uruppadiyaana kaariyam pannirukken inikku dhaan......
Anyway, Mr. Krishnamurthy nandhini ngra perai edhanaala vaichaar....???
I am not too surprised about Nandhini being given as a name to a Gujarati child. After all names like Nandita/Nandini are Sanskrit names and hence one would expect to find them elsewhere in india too.
