My native village is miles off 'Madhurandhakam', the famous Eeri (Lake) town. It is called 'Sozhan Thangal'. And the near by village is called 'Arungkunam'
I was wondering whether these names have something to do with the Chola Dynasty - esp the Ponniyin Selvan period. Can some knowlegable person throw some light on this?
from what we have discussed earlier in the group uthama sozan( earlier mathuranthakan) and his mom sembiyan mathevi have spent years in the area doing thiruppanis.
could have something to do with that. solavaram, solavanthan,solapuram and now solan thangal
