A careful study of the inscription reveals that most of the lands and proceeds recorded in this inscriptions are also recorded in the Tanjavur inscriptions of Rajaraja as gifts to the great temple of Tanjavur. It is strange that most of the lands gifted to Tanjavur temple by Rajaraja should have been transferred to the temple of Gangaikondacholapura“m by his son within twenty five years of the original gift. “ I am cut and pasting an information requiring close scrutiny, thanks to a senior member.
All the temple lands in the States of India are with the local politicians and business people barring a few. Many of the temples don't even get the land rentals or the share of the
yields ! The temples of Tamilnadu, in particular, have all along been neglected
after India's Independence ! Even English people had the reverence towards at least
temples if not the wealth ! Hail India ! Mera Bharat Mahan !
