Shivratri is on March 2nd this year. The mention of Shiva temples immediately stirs up images of Kashi,Somnath and Kedarnath. However, what is not known to a lot of people is a set of 275 Shiva temples that were revered by poets in 700CE, that are still centers of worship, art, architecture and traditions. This collection of temples is not in our collective consciousness because nothing much has been said about them in mainstream writing.
