I beg to differe on the Mandapam camp
The British disd export Tamils to Malaysia,Fuji,South Africa and west Indies but they did not force them and ship them away people left on their own will to make money...the good example is all the traders in Burma

  • Hi

when we talk about slave trade after r say the muslim rulers of delhi
i think it couldnt have been much ( like in africa)because the
    reverse was in progress.
its a fact that african slaves were imported into india.
their descendants -the siddi community of west india still survive.

  • Hi Sri,

There are documented evidences of forcible exportation of people from southern India. Anandarangam pillai's diaries do mention ofsimilar situations, where in he hadto rescue people from being shipped off. Indentured Labour that introduced wasa Legalised form of slave labour(Kothadimai type), where the labourer and his family had no way of paying off their debts infar-off lands.
