Koranganathar Temple, Srinivasanallur
  • Dear all,

Please find attached some pics that I took in Kuranganaathar kovil in Srinivasanallur near Musiri.

This is not a living temple since it has been kept closed for more that 1000 years. This is one of the earliest Chola temples!

Srinivasanallur is a small hamlet in Musiri taluk of Tiruchirapalli District, Tamil Nadu. It is located about 50 km from Tiruchirapalli on the Tiruchirapalli-Salem Highway.

Major point of attraction is the Koranganatha Temple, situated on the banks of Cauvery River. The temple preserves some of the finest early Chola stone sculptures and artifacts.

Tiruchirapalli Airport serves Srinivasanallur. Buses and other transportation facilities are available from Tiruchirapalli and Salem.
