The past couple of years have been a wonderful journey for me - with support from good hearts like sps sir, divakar sir, venkatesh and everyone...who put me on to lot of their friends and contacts - experts...i learnt a lot from these interactions...quite often i was at first scared and sometimes felt out of place in such discussions.
I am sure many of you would have felt similarly. i would like to take you on this wonderful journey of art appreciation in a simple manner...get you interested and then set you on to read the more serious or detailed works...i hope you would like the effort. A thousand thanks to thiru for putting up with all my ( forgive me - ) non techie questions and setting this up.
this is still in the testing mode - a lot more acknowledgements are due, but we have put up a small number of posts - for you to view - they are bilingual ....so please take time and comment. so we can work towards what a new reader would like to see.
tks again to everyone

Nice VJ. Will go through the site at leisure. The old man with newspapers in front of the panel is a bit distracting, but the framing gives an idea of the size of the panel. Sampath
Vijay, Congratulations on the great looking website, very impressive start!! I was very impressed by the cambodian Ravana sculpture and was reminded of the same reference to it in PS. Is there a similar sculpture anywhere in our country too?
I am truly indebted to you in more than one way, reading your blog was a amazing journey into some of the greatest sculptures in India, something which I wish I could do 365 days in year!
Next, being an ameture artist, I mainly try to imitate some of the sculptures on paper with a pencil. Though I can always use an eraser to rub the mistakes, I have always wondered how much of satisfaction the divine sculptors would have got to finish such an amazing piece of art without having an option to make corrections.
You Blog has given me so many many photographs that would act as my source for drawings, I have so many beautiful , clear and high resolutions Images of sculptures that I myself would have never been able to collect. Being far away from home, your blog really connects me to places I wish I could have been.
I hope you never run out of timeinspiration to keep your blog updated about the greatest sculptures our country has produced.
Wow... a big (bow) to you. That is a wonderful work. I will read all the articles and comment. The color and theme of the page is real pleasing and I think it was chosen to reflect the color of the stone.
when i was talking with sps sir and friends about the blog site, we intended this to be kind of wide net that we cast ....to reach out to more people ( one of the reasons why we made it bilingual ....and with help from friends ...Sri are you reading, maybe in other language as well).....i never though the first day itself will net such a big fish...
beautiful drawings...there are beautiful gems in our stone art, and i will strive to bring it to enthusiasts like you.
i too am an amateur artist like you and have a half a dozen canvases and subjects ready...still not found the time to sit down and do them....will take your inspiration..
btw my crude artwork has been elevated to the next level - what started off as a casual chat, has turned out to be my first art asignment - will hopefully appear in one of our great writers next work....shortly. The work itself is unique, one of the boldest attempts at historical fiction....cross over fiction... cant reveal more.
I am really glad you like my work :) . I will also strive to draw as many pictures as possible .
Absolutely thrilled to know there are so many like minded people in this group. Esp artists and even more glad that I have inspired you to put up ur art work on the net. :) Please keep us all updated about your paintings. Would love learn and exchange a few tips and tricks with you. :)

Nice work. Modestly you call yourself ameture artist, but your sketches are excellent. I cannot imagine how many hours you would have spent for so much detail in art. Regarding the use of pencil, it has its own beauty.
Thank you very much for your appreciation! :) . It is indeed time consuming, but end of the day isnt the satisfaction you get really amazing? :) Yourself being an artist I think you would be able to appreciate that feeling.
Wow, superb! I have been reading your mails in PS & Mintamil and even I have stored all your mails in my inbox. Hereafter there is no need to collect your mails I can refer to your website directly. Try to give us information whenever you publish new information.
