Hi all, That was a wonderful material published on Lord Ganesa.
Thanks to Lavanya.
Would like to speculate : 1. Rajaraja's collection of Thevaram took place prior to his ascending to the throne - probably when he was roaming around Udayakudi to find out the killers of Aditya Karikala - he contacted Nambiandar Nambi - went to Chidambaram - proved to be unharmful for the killers of AK; (Near Veeranam there is a village called Rajendra Cholanagam even today. One can spend more than one full day around Udayarkudi alone - Keezh Kadambur - Melakkadumbur - VP Koil - Udayarkudi (Avaneeswarar)- Rajendracholanagam - Thirumoolasthanam - Thirunaraiyur - to Chidambaram) 2. He might have met Panjavanmadevi in Chidambaram - She is known as Nakkan Thillayazhagiyar. (Adopted) Daughter of Moovanda Velalan - Previously known as Uthama Chola MVVLN and later Rajaraja MVVLN - chances to have access to imperial secrets!) 3. Because of Panjavarmadevi he was able to identify the killers and ascend to throne. She did not give birth to any child. Thus Rajendra was the only heir to the Throne. 4. Hence he built Pallippadai for Panjavanmadevi.
Dear Mr. SB, > 3. Because of Panjavarmadevi he was able to identify the killers and > ascend to throne. She did not give birth to any child. Thus > Rajendra was the only heir to the Throne. > 4. Hence he built Pallippadai for Panjavanmadevi.
would you please elaborate on how Panjavarmadevi helped in finding AK's killers? Or is that because she was privy to some imperial secrets as you've mentioned? Very curious, latha
