I'm now back! Last 1.5 months, very hectic here, from digesting the diagnosis to identifying the hospital, surgery and post surgery.. But it gave me an opportunity to view the world differently. If there be a being called god, I found he existed in the souls of people. Everyone was so helpful - from offering money, transfusion and logistics to post surgery care - including those relatives(!) who so long been cursing me to oblivion.
Even today, Balasubramanian called from Orissa and wished my daughter a great success!
I'm really greatful to all of them.
Back in that hospital, out of the several plagues that they kept on display, this one was from Mother Theresa to Dr. K M Cherian and it answered all my questions on life! It read as follows:
++++
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centred;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and GOD.
