Dear All, I am Ravi kanth, from chennai, present working at visakhapatnam. I got this egroup accidentally when i searched for kalki in www.google.com All those guys and gals in this group doing great job like our old tamil scholars and archaeologists.. I am reading all ur mails for the past 1 month and like to suggest that it will be great if u happen to discuss all kalki novels including Alai osai (non-historical)...and change the egroup name as PONNIYIN PUDHALVAN (indicating great Kalki R. Krishnamurthy) or some suitable name... Hence this egroup will become common platform for all those who exchange their views about kalki's great novels... I hope everyone including moderator will agree for that..
Ravi, that's quite a nice idea...I don't know about the name change- but we *could* discuss all of Kalki's works...Ram, Imli, Sumeetha, Gokul, and everyone else...what do you think?
I don't like changing the name of the site. Still there are lot of things to contribute by people like Gokul, Sumeetha, Pavithra, Srithar and others. Probably We can discuss Sivagamiyin Sabatham along with this or after this but not other novels at this moment.
In fact Ponniyin selvan means Kalki also indirectly.

Thinking of kalki, the first and foremost thing that comes to our mind is PS, followed by SS, PK and so on. But we do at times forget that Kalki had given some master pieces in current time based novels too, among which 'Thyaga Bhoomi' is the only one i had read. The more important fact is that most of our members, i suppose, wouldn't be knowing the whole creations of Kalki. So it would be helpful if we could have a separate thread or somthing in which reviews of his works been submitted by those who read them and maintained, so that even new joinees of the group could have a chance of knowing the creator more widely than a narrow vision as a Historical writer or just a author of PS. First and foremost, i would like to get to know about the number of novels, written by our creator and then we can start posting our reviews on them, which could form a good discussion room on his works.
We welcome discussions on all of Kalki's works. Most of them have a tinge of history embedded, anyway! This does not necessitate a name change and it is not easy to do either.
