The Navel fleets of Rajendra Chola have the unique achievement of coming as close as Malaysia and singapore (called Singa puram - in those days) and conquering many parts of Sri Vijaya empire which was then ruling the islands.
Rajendra thus obtained the title "Kadaram Kondan" (Called Kedah today).
What instruments they would have used in sea? What were their astronomical calculations? How was it possible to go so far and conquer a foreign land?
A group decided to find this out. Not sure if this really materialised, but what an attempt!!
