"Tholkappiam preceded Rig Veda" - Did Hanuman spoke in Tamil to Sita?

Hi, and welcome to the group! Very few of us are really scholars here, you know... it's good to discuss these things, and quite often, we don't need to be scholars to contribute! As for the link, I think he's reaching to find a cont…

RRC Birthday
In an era of an average life expectancy of maybe 36 at most? Quite possible, I think; even a king in those days couldn't really expect to live to the ages that we routinely do today... Shash

Oriyuran, father of Vijayayala !
The interesting bit here is that the Cholas weren't so big during this time; Tanjore to Pazhaiyarai to Tanjore to GKC is possible because they controlled the whole area. Oriyur being near Chennai, which is in Pallava lands is interesting in man…

Why Pandyas lost to Kafur.
Here's a mechanism to explain it: During long reigns, the next generation grows older without actually wielding power. They become restless, and start fighting among themselves. Power devolves to the ministers and other hangers-on. With no exp…

Vrinchipuram in North Arcot
Yes, I visited the main temple not more than a couple of weeks back. Fairly large temple, and I was told that it's the largest one in Vellore, though I can't verify that statement. Slightly disappointing... It's a Gajaprastha vimana…
