A very nice fiction called "The Historian" is a must read..dealing with the Dracula myth and legend. very well written and way better than the Da Vinci Code but not many know about it I think.

Precisely. It is called the Code Book. Wonderful book.. He also wrote another book called Fermat's Last Theorem, tracing the history of attempts to solve this right upto its final solution.

I beg to differ.. digital fortress was a load of hocus-pocus.. if you really want to know more about encryption etc.. read a book by Simon Singh on it.. where he talks about how codes developed (from the humble Ceaser's code) to current day RSA…

Why I am an atheist? by Bhagat Singh
Wonderful article... gives us an insight into an original mind.. a mind that is fearless in exploring even taboo topics or topics that other less fearless people baulk at touching. If this was his state of mind prior to his hanging, hats off to him.

Was probably true.. wars were never clean.. there was always loot and rape and I don't see why the Chola soldiers would not have done the same. You can of course argue about the "levels of brutality" but that again would be very subje…

I would think so. I don't see why people wouldn't want to make money by selling food/drinks.. has been going on for a long time.

If I were to be very blunt, I would say that God is a psychological prop that us humans require. If I were to be more diplomatic, I would say, I don't know.:) Arun

Dear SPS Aiyya, I have a couple of books which I really like: A History of Mathematics and a History of Science ("western science").. Both are very elevating to see how scientific discoveries have been built on previous contributions.
