    I have not said against dhaanam.
    What i wud like to stress is "look before you give" - meaning look before
    what u have in stock.

    Nabigal naayagam has mentioned 1/6th of a person's earning to be set aside
    for giving to the needy.

    Obviously, munnorgal ellaam would not have preached that "you distribute
    whatever you have and u become the aandi"

    Even Avvaiyaar told "irandhunnu vaazha veendaam"
