Hi I am a silent observer in this forum. Eventhough my contribution here is very little other than participating in a quiz, I follow all the mails and the activities of the group members. Hats Off to Pavithra for the excellent travelogue. It was as if we were watching it live. This has triggered the passion of reading PS for the 'n'th time, in me. It is great to associate with the knowledgeable and passionate PSians.
To all the people who appreciated the travelogue...I'm glad you liked it, and that I could escort you to all the places we went. If it was a pleasure reading it, writing about it was a great feeling too. Maybe we can all join up for the next trip:-)
I came across an interesting tidbit in today's Hindu Supplement- Friday Review(dated Feb 14th, page 6). A cetain Mr. Pradeep Chakravarthy has written about two temples, Thirupaarkadal and Melpadi (the latter was built and Arinjaya Chozhar's remains were interred here). It coincides with a concept Mr. SundarBharadwaj mentioned during our trip- interring the reamins of Kings near temples, and building pallipadais over them (he mentioned some facts about Raja raja with respect to this). For a long time I found that idea rather hard to accept- but its borne out by history...
