It also reminded me of someother ritual...
how ever crowded the temple is ...if you place two fingers on the bronze nandhi on the two horns and saw thru the diamond formed between the fingers and horns you ll get exactly the same image as we see in the photo we ll be able to see the lingam above the crowd.....
second is people whispering into the ear of nandhi while closing the other ear...the belief is you whisper the venduthal making sure that it doesnt go out of the other ear and nandhi speaks to sivan himself on our behalf...
