Kamba Ramayanam was having support among the others.
    > The Saivites did not not support it.

Kamba Ramayana was composed during later chola era
who were ardent shaivites.Chola kings supporetd kambar whole
heartedly.I dont think public of chola kingdom thought themselves as
veera shaivites and refused to read kamba ramayan.Kamba ramayana was
popular among whole poets of tamilnadu irrespective of their
    differences.

KuRaL was unknown until very late tiimes. But it was being
    > read by the Jains during all times.

Jains have contributed greatly to tamil literature. But
that doesnt mean that kural is a jain book.I agree that kural is not
a religious book and is common to whole human race. But if you really
want to search for a religion in kural it will be hinduism.

    Manikkavasagar,yes,i have read him.St.catherines is a
sad story.Devout christianity to the core.pressing thorns on her
head and extreme fasting. Her dialogues too are religious like
praying and obedience.Nothing wrong in being religious .Maybe if u
can quote what i missed in her apart from religion i will be
greatful.Teresa is about mythical christianity and perfection of
souls by prayer stuff. Her autobiography might have been
interesting, but dint read that so far.
