RRC - the GREAT why? [1 Attachment]
  • Good observations. I hope this resolves all ambiguities.
  • Dear Sir,

The Attachment file is very nice. It is nice to see that even he has respected Barbars
and other workers of the society and egraved their names.

I have heard that Kanchi Paramacharya did make a golden crown out of the
kanakabishegam done to the Sivapathasekaran and that crown was put by Indira Gandhi to Rajaraja Statue.

But I have some doubts which can be addressed by Vj and others experts.
I must tell you i am not an expert like those in this group and so sorry if I am sounding
ignorant. Whatever doubts I had just I am putting down.

Some time back writer Gnani wrote an article (in kalki or in kumudam) in which he stated that Rajaraja was not a great king because he finished off the Kerala independent states
which were carrying out the administration in a republican manner and replaced them
with dynatic rule. Is this true ?
Also there is a front gate called Keralantakan Thiruvoyal.
Tipu Sultan may be the hero of Mysore but he is the villain in Kerala.
Does Rajaraja has this contrasting image here and kerala ?

Why did Rajaraja did not send the chola army to defend Somnath ?
Instead of going eastward, had he gone westward he would have been hailed as
the saviour of India at an important phase.
Madan in his vandargal vendrargal says that Cholas knew about this and there may be a reason not venturing westward. he does not tell why.
Can anyone say something on this too.

Howdy, Stranger!
