Last August month a devotee in kadambur temple done a shameful work, he lighted a deepam to Lord Murugan ,before the sannathi a 200 years old Rishaba vagana kept by the side. He lighted the deepam and put it on the platform of the Rishaba vagana, its happened in morning (kalai santhi) the temple closed after the pooja. when we opened the temple for evening pooja seemed the 6feet Rishaba vagana completely burned only able to see the head portion of the vaganam. It was donated by the Nattukottai chettiars when they rebuilt the temple before 200years. a person's negligence done a massive lose I think it may cost upto 1.5 lakhs now
