wisdoms in vedic hinduism-19
  • The Vedas are the outpourings of the suffering souls in its early forms
In its later forms it becomes the orderly thoughts of a tempered mind
They were not written by a single author or even at a single period
Yet their poetry and lofty ideals are revered all the time by hindus
Every later school of thought has traced their beginnings to them
The aim of upanisad was not a systematic philosophy but an attempt to grasp the basic doubts of the wandering minds
Most of them are inconsistent, unscientific and repetitive elaborations of a similar theme
Yet their value as an intuitive thought of early minds and the religious reflections of Hinduism cannot be ignored
The attempts to chart out the cosmos and the strife to fill up ones place in it is the prime theme of the Vedas in essence
That is exactly what makes them very relevant even today-to know the fundamental questions in metaphysics rather than the cookbook answers to the fast driven modern life of man!
