The early Hinduism thus had transformed itself from fire worshiping to a form of polytheism briefly. The polytheism later merged into a one god concept after the transition to upanisads The one god theory is monotheism The monotheism later led to the speculation that the cosmic body and the ontic body are but one This is monism The monism of Hinduism is more stronger in its concept than any other religion of the west The monism of Hinduism had not tried to suppress or annihilate other faiths (like islam or Christianity did in the west asia or Europe for the pre –existing philosophies or faiths). There were confrontations with other philosophies and there were discussions eventually a confluence of system developed. The Aryan gods, Dravidian gods and the aboriginal gods were amalgamated into the giant monotheistic Hinduism were every other gods became departmental heads or the secretarial functionaries This process of mutual assimilation and coexistence needed a frame work or order which gave rise to the varna classifications. This system prevented conflicts escalating into complete war and annihilation. Both the defeated and the victors shared a common system with hierarchical order of social life and thought. The vedic Hinduism by the time the upanisads were compiled became a monistic religion or its other variation the advaitha form. Many reference to the advaitha(non-double) concept are found in many upanisads.
