Ranganatharas requested byVibeeshana - faces the lanka and blesses them.

Thondar adipodi alwar sings this in his pasuram:

குண திசை முடியை வைத்து
குடதிசை பதம் நீட்டி
தென் திசை இலங்கை நோக்கி
வடதிசை பின்பு காட்டி

The fire from thefront ( front - முன்- from the eyes of Siva - destroyed Tripuras.Fire put on the back -பின் - tail of Hanuman - destroyed Lanka.


The above song is attribute to pattinathar but it is not clear whether it is sung by him or part of a later story on pattinathar.
