Dear Members, Ofcourse you would have heard about Mahakaleshvar jyotirlingam in Ujjain. When I visited there, my main purpose was to see the sites of historic and architectural importance and hence I did not visit all the religious shrines there. But I did pay a visit to Mahakelshvar temple, and yes it was pretty crowded. No photographs were allowed so cant give much from my side. However I did vist a very fascinating site, an observatory constructed by King Jai Singh. It is still in use and plays an important part in making of Hindu Panchang.
In Ujjain in a place called Sandhipani ashram - where lord Kishna, Balarama and Kuchela studied, there is a small sivalingam of about 1 - 1.5'. The Lingam is white and the snake around it is black.
