There are Many temples in Tamilanadu with Vali Sugreeva Legends.

The Vada Kurangaduthurai ( On the Kumbakonam - Thiruvaiyaru route) is worshipped by Vali and Thenkurangaduthurai ( Kumbakonam - Mayuram route) by Sugreeva.Thirukkurakkukka worshipped by Hanuman.

Though all are thevara sthalams, only the Vada Kurangaduthurai has the reference to vali. ( Though I personally believe the legends are true but in this article, we present only the places which have clear thevara/prabnda/inscriptional references.)

Sambandar sings Vali legend in vada Kurangaduthurai padigam. Sambandar refers Vali as Valiyar. He refers Valifolding ravana in his tail.(he tied all his 20 hands). Herefers thatthis temple is worshipped by vali.

Our temples and legends are much older and they are notjust stories. Even in600-620 AD it is mentioned by Sambandar.

வாலியார் வழிபடப் பொருந்தினார் திருந்துமாங் கனிகளுந்தி

நீலமா மணிமிடற் றடிகளை நினையவல் வினைகள்வீடே.

நீலமா மணிநிறத் தரக்கனை யிருபது கரத்தொடொல்க
வாலினாற் கட்டிய வாலியார் வழிபட மன்னுகோயில்
ஏலமோ டிலையில வங்கமே யிஞ்சியே மஞ்சளுந்தி
ஆலியா வருபுனல் வடகரை யடைகுரங் காடுதுறையே
