ஊன்பொதி பசுங்குடையார், who praise Chola king, chozan seruppaazi-erindha-iLam-cEt-chenni (Verse 378)forl gifting gold coins and ornaments on a group of poverty strickenmale and female bards or minstrels. (Panan and Pani) The group, who had never seen an ornament before, started trying on them in the court itself. Not knowing which ornament goes where, they tried wearing the nose-ring on the finger, the ring for the finger on the ear, the necklace on the waist, and the waistband on the neck etc.
The Poet compares this- once Ramas wife Sita was taken away by the demon , the monkeys which took her jewels from the ground were wearing it without knowing where to put those jewels . The nech ornament worn on the hand, hand on the head etc etc.
Like those monkeys, these people are wearing the ornaments.
