Maintenance by ASI in an andhra temple
  • Friends

While traveling in kakinada area, I saw 3 beautiful towers in a village. I entered inside and the village is called biccavole. This temple has daily pooja and has 3 shiva shirines. All the three towers look beautiful. The temple is under ASI. On entering found The entire floaring is tiled. The walls inside are tiled. The tower damages are reapired with concrete. The main tower is totally redone in concrete.

To cap all, the main lingam's avudayar itself is tiled, for ease of abishegam. All epigraphs are lost and gurukkal says the temple was built by eastern chalukyans in 11th AD.

This temple has a beautiful murugan and the entire complex is known as subramanya temple, by locals. ( the murugan has pasam in one hand and some thing like chakram in the other hand) The lingam is called Golingeswara.

If ASI maintains like this, what would be the fate of other temples?
