Tamil worship in Andhra Temples
  • Dear Friends
As a frequent traveller ( almost 20 days/month ) in AP, i have found the follwoing in AP temples.
    1. Srisailam - Sung by Moovar and the padigams are engraved in the wall
    2. Kalahasthi - pooja is same as in any TN temple. Oduvar is there and padigam is sung
    3. Tirumala- Morning Thomala seva - Thiruppavai sung. Then at around 7 am in Jeeyar seva, The Pallandu is sung. In the month of Margazhi instead of Suprapadam in all 30 days thiruppavai is sung.
    4. In Ahobilam divyaprabandum sung during worship.
    5. Most of the vishnu temples like simhachalam and vaishnava mutts like vijayawada chinna jeer mutt ( even though the origin of the mutts and temples are of telgu ) divayaprabhandam - mainly pallandu, thiruppavai is sung in poojas.
    6. Almost all vishnu temples have andal sannidhi.
