the sivagnan bodham was written by meykandar. he was born in thiruvengadu in 1250s. he translated the sanskrit work of this book into tamil( there are arguments against this). he was the first in the line of the sandhana acharyas. his followers call themselves as meykanda sandhanam. his book consists only 12 sootrams. it consists the essence of saiva philosophy. i shall go about them one by one:
siva gnana bodham:1st sootram
1.the creation is three forms. they are father,mother and child. 2.they have three phases. 3.they are, appearance,sustenance and dissappearance. this is the duty of the god. 4.the god is inside this creation and he is hidden inside his creation. 5.the purpose of this process is to get releived of the three malam(anavam,kanmam and maya). 6.the god almighty alone is responsible for this whole process.
