freinds, to know how symbolisms are used in saiva siddhantham i add a few more examples
PANCHAKRA PAHRODAI: This is one of the 14 books of the thiruvavaduthurai pandara sastangal. This book deals with the five principles of the saiva ontology. The five principles of the saiva siddhantham are represented by the term si-va-ya-na-ma. The five words are symbolic of of the hidden meanings in the siva.
Si=siva = represented as the sun Va=sakthi =represented as the rays of light Ya=pasa bondagesr= represented as the eye of the observer Na=jeevan=lamp with the flame Ma=maya=darkness that sorrounds the lamp
The jeeva is aresrvoir of malam. The pasa brings the jeevan close to the maya and brings it to the state of mayeyam. This process is done by the power of thirodhana . hence the mayeyam and thirodhina sakthi also becomes the malam.
The malam are there fore five: 1.anavam 2.kanmam 3.maya 4.mayeyam 5.thirodhina
The five principles of panchkram( panja-atcharams) helps the jeeva to get rid of the five malam. The process is described subsequently. The five stages are illustrated with the beutifull example of 1.sun 2.light rays from the sun 3.the eye wich catches the light 4. the lamp with its flame 5.darkness around the lamp. The sun and its raysare the siva and its sakthi. The eye wich catches the light does not have light of its own. The flame of the lamp wich has the light does not know th light by itself. The dark ness that surrounds the lamp is the maya of the world. Lord siva through the power of sakthi comes as the rays of light to the world. But the eye which see the light does not have a light of its own is compared to ignorance of the soul. The flame which has alight but does not enjoy the illumination for itself is again shown as the anava malam . the darkness which sorrounds the lamp in the form of its shadow is the veil of maya which accompanies the jeevan although. Panchakra pahrodai is an excellent doctrine from thiru-avadu-thurai-adheenam. It was written in 15th century.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching,Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin, Into his nest again, I shall not live in vain. Emily Dickinson
also give detaisl on the Deeparaadanai and other ubacharas, mudras and explain.
The procedure in the vaideham is very simple in the shodasobacharam where as it is elobarate in saiva siddanda. ( Chidambaram deeparadanai looks more of vaideha style but still looks different)
Please add the puja methodology symbolisms if possible,.
