Kandalurchalai
  • Dear Gokul,

Vizhignam - as this place is now known - is a Shore town as most of
us are aware of. Hence Educational Academy teaching martial Arts -
Military disciplines including ship building - ship wars etc.,
theories are put forward. Geographical point also made it a watch
point to monitor any help from the West to Ealam. Pandyas & Cheras
almost shared their borders near this Western Sea port.

Can we compare Poompuhar & Chidambaram in the same way on the East
for Cholas? Are you aware that there exists a KEEZHACHALAI near
    Thiruvengadu even today?

    Awaiting Pandyas Copper plate details.,

Re Srirangam there is another theory : Ranganatha was worshipped by
Itshwaghu .. ancestor of Sri Rama. Kodai Nachiyar wedded Sri
Ranganatha and thus considered respectable even by Sita Devi ..
When one takes pradakshinam, he will walk slowly when moving away
from Ranganatha's feet (East to West ) and walk quickly when moving
toward the feet (towards East?!) Unending & untiring .. Fondly, SB

Howdy, Stranger!
