MORAL VALUES
  • Having discussed in depth about old temples & inscriptions, its time to relax.... Think for a while....

I have read a small story....

Here the players are three. They are 'Character, Wealth, and Happiness'.
There was a king who ruled some part of North India years ago.
He was just and loved by his subjects for his honesty and truthfulness.
The land he ruled was wealthy and Rich.
As a king, he made it a habit to go round the cities and villages during
    night time incognito.
One night he was just making the rounds, he saw one beautiful lady
coming out of the gates of his city.
Curious, he stopped her to ask who she was.
The lady replied that I am the goddess of wealth and I am leaving. The
king never asked why and gave his consent to the goddess.
Soon he saw one more beautiful lady coming out of gates of his city.
The king again asked the lady who she was.
The lady replied that I am the goddess of happiness.
If wealth is not there I also will be not there. So saying she left
leaving king wondering what is going to happen next.
Soon, A lady most beautiful of the three came out.
King again stopped and asked her who she was. She replied I am the
goddess of Character. I also want to leave your kingdom.
When the king heard this, he immediately fell at her feet and begged her
    not to leave his kingdom.
Finally, the king succeeded in his attempt of retaining the goddess of
    character.
Immediately, the goddess of wealth returned followed by the goddess of
    happiness.
In the end, the king was again happy that all the three came back to his
kingdom making his country rich and wealthy.
Hope this story tells you something related to moral values.

  • WHY NOT ?

    I recall reading ::

A person on the streets begging got a decayed apple.

While he was walking eating it, another person asked for a portion of it !

He looked at and waved him away .. because he was now RICHER !

    sps
  • I am reminded of the old movie Pushpak, classic silent movie where Kamal looks at this beggar on the foot path and offers some change, the beggar lifts the dirty cloth he is sitting on to reveal lots of currency. In the end the beggar is dead and people are fighting for that currency while his body is lying on the side. In our country the lady character has left long ago while somehow wealth and happiness are reserved for some people. Why more than half the country is under poverty line and 40% of Forbes billionare list are still indians :))
