Coming to the point, I feel that my view was exactly the same,keeping the stories and hagiologies apart, to assess the real history, weneed to go only by inscriptions, copper plates andto some extent the contemporary literary works. The sthalapuranams and other hagiologies,IMHO, play only a very miniscule part in assessing the history.
