Swaroop, Drona married Kripacharya's twin sister Kripi. Drona was born out of sage Bharadwaja's desire for an apsara, in a vessel (hence the name Drona).
There are also some legends that say the Pallava dynasty was descendant from Drona/Ashwattama.

Thanks SPS sir. I was about to ask if Pallava dynasty were Brahmanas or Kshatriyas? U've cleared my doubt even before i could put it across!
I have one another doubt. I was under teh assumption that the 'Gothrams' to which be belong to is basically the name of the sage from which that geneology has descended. Pls correct me if i am wrong.
