My name is Sibi and I am a new member of the group. I am doing my Phd at the Univ of Texas at Austin. Nice to know about this group.
I started reading PS only last summer and was immediately immersed into it. Because of research, I could only complete all the 5 volumes last december. I was totally impressed by the writing of Kalki - his imagination, his narration of feud between saivites and vaishnavites, romance in many places and various other aspects. It's also impressive to note that the female characters have been given a lot of importance showing the greatness of ancient tamil culture. I'd think Nandini moves the entire plot single-handedly, for example....
I was also interested in reading other works of Kalki. I'm currently reading SS and going to read PK. I was also interested in South Indian history. Googling for various aspects led me to this group.
I should say I'm glad to see such an active group interested in south indian history and am glad to join you all.
