I have a doubt which I want the forum members to clarify. Iam not sure whether the same topic has arisen before. I happened to visit a museum in hyderabad, where various sculptures relating to chola and pallava period were on display. I observed that both shiva & parvathy wore cross belts(Poonool) in the sculptures. Does it mean that females were also wearing the same in olden days?
With reference to PUNAL, what I have heard/read (not clear) is a boy/guy/man becomes a brahmin when his UPANAYANAM is done and a girl/gal/woman becomes a brahmin when she MARRIES a brahmin.
