Mahendra PallavarI expected great and noble deeds from himdo you know, my boy, once, the sculptors of the Pallava Empiremyself includedgathered to bestow upon him a grand title Vichithra Chithar He who possesses a mind like lightening, who can think in many directions, at any given time. Vichithra Chithar, indeed. I wish wed conferred on him the title Sabala Chithar He who changes his decision every second, without giving a thought to anything or anybody.
On artistic temperments. Ayyanar was unhappy because Emperor Mahendra Pallavar had change of plans in art work during the war.

Folks Ms.Pavithra has done an excellent job translating the book
The amazing thing about Kalki's style of writing is that the text transports you back in time. Even after I put the book down I am in a special peaceful realm of the yesteryear. The first time I read Parthiban Kanavu I was so mesmerised, that after I put the book down and went for a walk, the buildings and houses around seemed so out of place......I felt I am in the past and the present seems so out of sync.
I haven't read Ponniyinselvan yet, the book is arriving tomorrow.
