The GOOD news is: We had found that there were 9 temples (Navagraha sthalas) around Chennai all built during Chola period,mostly having Gaja Brushta Vimanams. We undertook a visit, and had an opportunity to present a powerpoint presentation through our trust founder (REACH-temple_cleaners) Mr.T.Satyamurthy (ex-Chief ASI) during a conference called by the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Tourism Dev.Corpn, Thiru.Irayanbu IAS (what a name coincidence!!) on 9th July 2006. On 15th July one Mr.Rajasekar, an official with TTDC, along with his staff conducted a self-review visit to all these temples, on 15th July 2006, after asking our REACH members the route map etc. They were satisfied with the aunthenticity and ancient value of the information given to them on these temples, that they have announced a package tour to all these sthalas as their regular itinery recently (through all vernacular newspapers) and in Today's THE HINDU. Unfortunately, I could not scout the news in THE HINDU e-version. They charge only Rs.150/- per head to take them to all these sthalas.
A good team work by all members involved and a timely work by our founder and of course the TTDC team!!
