Raajarajeswaram Interpretation centre unveiled
  • Dear Gokul
    Thats greta news
but ASI should first get UNESCO to give credit to RRC for building bigtemple which is missing in the citation
  • Dear SPS
I think ASI should charge foreigners a stat $10 per entry like mamallapuram The locals we can decide whether to charge or not .This money will come in handy to improve infrastructure and make it a better centre.
  • Dear SPS
one of the things that we wanted in the big temple.com is to have news updates
We will add the links to the news and the info centre
  • Dear SPS

Very good coverage. As rightly said this is a good beginning with scope
    for improvement.

The first scholar to identify chola paintings was Prof.S.K.Govindasamy
of annamalai univ. You might have seen his pic I believe.

We will take it forward in due course of time.

Sri: I concur with your idea of charging an amount which can be
    invested back.
  • Dear SPS
that sounds great but I will still say $10 because thats nothing for someone spending $2000 to come to India Unfortunately we cant charge them for entry into the temple or Can we? because its a place of worship
However we should charge for the centre and one important thing to do will be to do a virtual tour of the inner vimanam and show the video in a small AV theatre...
then we can justify the costs
  • Dear SPS
    thats great

There are a few simple things which we or ASI can do to really get the
world to appreciate the magnificence of Big Temple

Have videos of inner passage and aeral shots of the temple gopuram
systematically and have them as an interactive presentation.

For instance you sit in a computer and have the gopuram in front of
you. You should be able to spin and turn it or zoom into ay bit hats
    necessary.

Second to give a real time effect have three possibly four telescopes
on all four directions of the madhil where people can insert coins and
    zoom to see

One raelly appreciates the magnificence when seeing the temple from
above...Me and Gokul had the pleasure of seeing it in the discovery
    channel programme of BT
