Can somebody throw light on this. Also what does it says.
  • Saminathan,

It is the Rajasimha period Pallava grantha. I shall consult with Lavanya/Dr.Nalini and get back to you on this. It is belongs to the Dharmaraja ha, it may as well denote a "biruda" of king Rajasimha (He has several virudhup peyargaL).
  • Thanks Ram.But i have a novice question.Is the "Five Rathas" created
by Narashima Pallavan or Rajashimma Pallavan.

I took this picture from "Five Rathas",as per my understanding,i
thought only the Shore Temple in the beach was built by Rajashimman.

Please excuse me if my question doesn't make sense.

That letters belongs to this Picture

I focussed that letter from my cameram on top this King.

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Thanks and Regards
    Saminathan.

Your question makes absolute sense ! But the ans is not easy.
Dr.K.R.Srinivasan - a doyen in pallava architecture consideres that
the five rathas were begun in narasimha period and complete in
rajasimha period. Dr.kalaikkovan strongly opposes this view -
atleast with respect to dharmaraja ratha and says that the complete
    ratha was Rajasimha's contribution.
