Good info. But I am a bit confused...
RRC 7th year 992...ok... He ascended in 985.correcta.. Then Uthama ruled 16 years before RRC. So during 973-974 how can Kandaraditha thevar construct the temple, as you have mentioned..
Kundanthai N Sethuraman has discussed this episode in great detail in "Early cholas mathematics reconstructs chronology"
Among many things he observes : There is a sculpture on top of the famous inscription showing sembiyan - WITH BANGLES AND OTHER ORNAMENTATION - worshipping shiva in thirunallam. There is a saintly figure very near the lingam. Sethuraman says this could be kandarathitha
It should have been quite a pain for the great saint-king to see aditha killing and whatever that followed.
