    hi…i have been a silent visitor all along reading all the previous
    messages.

    there have been discussions going on as to which vallam( the one in
    tondaimandalam or the one near thanjai) does vanthiyadevan belong to….

    i read in the fourth chapter of Ps, when Vd comes to sambuvarayar’s
    palace, he introduces himself to the gaurds as

    என் ஊரும் பேருமா கேட்கிறாய்? வாணகப்பாடி நாட்டுத் திருவல்லம் என் ஊர்.
    என்னுடைய குலத்து முன்னோர்களின் பெயர்களை ஒரு காலத்தில் உங்கள்
    நாட்டு வீரர்கள் தங்கள் மார்பில் எழுதிக் கொண்டு பெருமையடைந்தார்கள்!
    என் பெயர் வல்லவரையன் வந்தியத்தேவன்! தெரிந்ததா?” என்றான்.

    does’nt it imply he belongs to vallam near Vaniyambadi in north arcot
    district…i guess i am right…

    Re Vallam – Thanjai, there is old-time story that there was one
    Vallaba asuran !

    Any how, one ancient bathing tank (Kulam) is there in Thanjai vallam -
    apprently remains of Royal lifestyle!

    There is Vallam – Aegauri Amman – which is much famous today !

    Aegauri is deciphered as ” EGA VEERI” – which is how Kali’s were named
    after – through Thiruvalnchuzhi inscriptions !
