Thank you
Dear M, I'll miss you too - especially (like Swaroopini said) the Mahabharata/Ramayana discussions, and your thoughts on other topics as well. But its your decision, and I respect it. Here's hoping we meet again.

Sri, Quite a few, actually - but I haven't made up my mind as to who, or how many, :). One pet peeve I have is using historical story titles for ordinary rom-com movies. :(

Oh God - that Karikalan song! Who in their right mind compares a heroine's tresses to Karikalan's (burnt) leg???!!! I swear, I did a double-take when I first heard it. And yes, VA mentioned in an interview that he wanted something "l…

Already done :) Funny though - the history parts weren't what I imagined they'd be. They got the language right (gave me the shivers to hear 1000 year old Tamil spoken), I think, as well as rituals like navagandam (which was a sight to be…

I didn't much like the Naughtiest Girl thing - it seemed so much a Treatise on How Girls Must Behave tripe that I gave up after half a book. :) Blyton seemed better when she forgot to be all moralistic and goody-goody. I did go on a Nancy Drew …

Maloo - probably one of the Famous Five series. I liked them, but lost interest in that after a while. Fatty still remains my favourite. Like you said, she opened up avenues as far as imagination went. I learnt to explore strange new worlds through …

Hi Maloo and Venkat - yeah, I know Blyton (and for that matter, Christie) has that racist (and sexist) tag, but that was a sign of her times, and though I found (still find) those sections irritating (especially the perfect women thing - you can see…

Wow, Everyone's reading serious stuff. :) Intriguing, some of the book choices. I'm afraid I'm one of those people who read several books at the same time. I'm re-visiting my childhood by going through several Enid Blyton mysteri…

Ponniyin Selvan Movie Trailer
Hi, Wonderful job on the trailer. VD's physique is great. I endorse Sps sir's suggestions as well - showing VD leaving Kanchi would be nice. And maybe introduce some variation with the sound? just my two cents. Looking forward to more!

Hi, I think its mentioned in the last paagam that Kamali's son is 12 - Sivakami is amazed to see him so grown up. So no, I don't think Kalki goofed up. :) I remember seeing the illustration of a young boy running inside the house and Siva…

good in bad, and vice versa
Dear Malathy, Its been a while since I read PS, but I seem to remember that VD was 25. Kundavai was 22 or 21, and AV was 19-20. I remember making out lists (:P) and trying to match ages or something. I could be wrong, I guess.

Hi, I believe Kalki hit the mark when he portrayed them the way he did. They were both pretty young - and both knew that their love was being frowned upon. Mamalla had his father's approval and an entire kingdom and enemies to think of - and he…
