Who is the greatest ever ruler to have ruled Tamilnadu or a part of tamilnadu?Many names come to my mind.Kamarajar,RR,Rajendra,karikala cholan,manu neethi cholan, nedunchezhiya pandiyan,MGR,Rani Mangamma...so many.Who do you think is the best ruler to have ever ruled Tamilnadu?Why?

Hi muthuraj, kambana was the cofounder of vijayanagar empire along with Harihara and Bukka.Kambana's dynasties ruled tamilnadu from 14th century to 18th century.

RR and Rajendra are landmarks in history of TN.They are our reply to alexander and napolean.They stand there with the very best in Indian history along with asoka,krishnadevaraya,kanishka,harsha and pulikesin.
And kambana started his career as the son of a provincial ruler.when entire south india was under slavery sangama dynasty which was just a provincial rulers dared to dream of liberating it.Sangama dynasty achieved it.Kambana established vijayanagar empire along with his father and turned his eyes on TN.Finally his empire stretched from kanyakumari to krishna-the same as RR and Rajendra(they did not annex kadaram and ganges valley,just invaded)The lands above krishna river to madyapradesh were ruled by his father bukka,So the sangama dynasty virtually ruled entire south India.Kambana would have inherited this had he lived,but he died at a young age. I am not grading emperors based on the land which they ruled.If thats the case chengizkhan is the greatest in the world.His empire stretched from atlantic occean to pacific occean.RR's greatness is his dream of a chola empire and rajendras greatness is furthering his dream.They fulfilled the dream of vijayalaya and aditha.
Kambanas greatness is saving the culture.what no tamil king could do,he did .He came to save the country when it was most needed.He was the last great emperor in TN.After him there was none.
